SSL certificates: Trust + protection in one click.
SSL (technically TLS) encrypts data, verifies identity, and makes tampering harder. Result: more trust, stronger security — and a modern-looking website.
What does SSL actually do?
SSL (TLS) encrypts the connection between browser and server. That helps protect passwords, forms, logins and content against eavesdropping and manipulation.
Why you need SSL
Without HTTPS, sites often feel outdated or untrustworthy. With HTTPS you get:
HTTP & HTTPS
Left: unencrypted (readable). Right: encrypted (private).
Unencrypted: data is readable in transit and easier to tamper with.
Encrypted: data stays private and tampering gets much harder.
• Manipulation is easier.
• Integrity checks reduce tampering.

Certificates at VantaNet
VantaNet uses free Let’s Encrypt certificates for customers. These certificates must be renewed regularly because they expire after about 90 days. We notify you before expiration. If you don’t want Let’s Encrypt, you must buy/rent a certificate from your domain provider and provide it.
